In Partnership with Ogilvy Earth we created an exhibition stand on behalf of the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA), the South African National Biodiverstiy Institute (SANBI), South African National Parks (SANParks) and Working for Water and its affiliates.
We created a stand that communicated the capacity for these sectors to as a whole or in part, help to mitigate climate change, create jobs and encourage innovation and hence stimulate economic development. The final design solution was a Good News stand that expounded current and possible future scenarios and a Job Creation Center. The stand contained lenticulars that communicated before and after messages; flower displays that compared endemic and alien species; a modular stand-specific bracket that made it possible to assemble honeycomb structures. The stand also included feedback counters that questioned the public's perception of biodiversity and a dynamo that when turned lit a message about the energy creating capacity of alien vegetation.
The stand won best medium sized stand and we received some positive comments from both the Deputy President and Trevor Manuel.
